Multomah Shawl

Finally...finally finished this Multomah Shawl! I have attempted this three times! The first time I used old, old Noro and the yarn kept breaking. The second time my daughter's puppy got a hold of it. You can imagine.....

Now, it is finally complete! I used Knitpicks yarn...which I love. It is both scrumptuous and affordable! My lovely daugter, Sarah is my model.

All I can do is smile......   :o)

Seasonal Stitching.....or "A Mad Dash To Get Those Ornaments Done Before Christmas Is Over!"

Stitching the Night Away Do you find yourself stitching seasonally or do you just stitch what moves you at the moment? What’s your favorite holiday or season to stitch for?

I typically stitch "what moves me at the moment". Unfortunately, I usually get moved to stitch Christmas ornaments during the Christmas season. So, I am usually stitching like crazy to get at least one new ornament for the year on the tree!!!

Although I rarely stitch Halloween pieces, I have to say I love them!!! I don't know why I don't stitch them.

Happy stitching everyone....no matter what stitching season your are in!

Stitching and a clean house....LOL!!!!!

Do you experience this same assumption from society in general that just because you’re being crafty you’re also driven by some unseen force to be in constant 1950s housewife mode? and then…. Who actually does the cooking and the cleaning in the household? I’d also really like to hear some words from the men in the crowd who stitch on this topic. What sort of societal reactions do you get and what ridiculously wrong assumptions do people make towards you when they see you working on needlework?

Yes! People tend to assume I am "Betty Homemaker" because I knit, cross stitch, etc. What a joke! It is because of these passions my house rarely gets totally cleaned!  I have stashes of floss, yarn, finished and unfinished projects everywhere!!! My closet is stuffed with crafting supplies!

As far as cooking....hubby and I share the responsibility. He probably does so more than me. I really don't enjoy cooking like I used to. It is just another chore for me. I actually used to enjoy it, but not now. It is not so much the cooking....it's the deciding what to cook....and cleaning it up! I always say that if I hit the lottery I am going to hire a chef to decide the meals and cook them....you know, like my parents did. Of course, I had to clean up after supper then....hmmmm....I guess I will just have to hire a maid to go with the chef!!!

Happy Stitching!

Goals! Round 3 of the Blog Hop!!!!

I can't say that I set stitching goals. I am afraid if I did, I would come out a failure everytime! I am the queen of unfinished projects. There are too many beautiful pictures to stitch! I find myself starting another one before I get most of mine finished.  :o)

Of course, maybe if I set goals, I would finish more projects more quickly. Heck, I will set one now! I hope to have my vintage welcome done by mid July...at the same time I hope to have my living room painted! Pics to come at a later date!

I am working on my blog....so forgive the mess. I am tired and have to go to bed now.

Stitching Stand...only a dream....

I do not stitch with a stand. This is not by choice, but by the sheer fact I do not own a stand! I have often thought I would like to have one sitting by my chair with my current stitching project ready for me to add a stitch or two at a moments notice! I often look at them in books and advertisements. I dream of the "Cadillac Version". That is, one equipped with an easel to hold the pattern....a light...and a place to conveniently put the necessities!
Maybe I should "hint" for one more aggressively! Santa Hubby hasn't got the hint yet! :o)

I just wanted to say.....I had jury duty today and I learned something very important! A judge will NOT hold court so you can "finish a row"! Imagine that!

Pondering.....

I am back again. I really want to get this thing going. Ideas? I would love to show case knitting and cross stitch from the world. Holding contests would be fun. Reviewing needlework sites is another idea. How 'bout all of them!
No dream comes true if one never wakes up and moves!
